July 13, 2020 to August 31, 2020 9:00 am
Amazon is hiring more than 1,500 full-time positions ahead of the launch of its TUL2 fulfillment center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Employees will play integral roles within Amazon’s customer fulfillment operations and will work alongside Amazon robotics to pick, pack, and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics, and toys.
These positions will be opened up in small blocks of 25 to 35 at a time.
The hiring process will take place throughout the following weeks ahead of the opening. Starting Monday, July 13 through August, hiring events will take place at the Tulsa Technology Conference Center (10800 N. 140th E Ave., Owasso, OK 74055). Amazon’s Workforce Staffing will host events five days a week, Monday-Friday, with 12 half-hour events per day starting at 9:00 a.m. running through 4:00 p.m. and a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each event will approximately have 20-25 candidates scheduled.
In these unprecedented times, Amazon remains committed to the health and safety of our employees, partners, and the customers we serve. We know many people have been economically impacted as jobs in areas like hospitality, restaurants, and travel are lost or furloughed as part of this crisis, and we welcome anyone out of work to join us at Amazon until their past employer can bring them back.
Onboarding includes several COVD-19 accommodations, including virtual new hire orientation sessions that provide training and information through online sessions. The facility will also provide employees with personal protective equipment like masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer. During their appointment, candidates may be required to have a temperature check. We ask candidates to not attend if any of the following applies to them:
They are living with someone who has been confirmed COVID-19 positive and have medical advice to self-quarantine.
They have a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher.
They are in a 14-day period of self-isolation directed by a healthcare provider or health official.
They have traveled to another country in the last 14 days.
They currently have a cough or shortness of breath.
On top of Amazon’s industry-leading minimum starting wage from $15 an hour, the company offers full-time employees comprehensive benefits including full medical, vision, and dental insurance as well as a 401(k) with 50 percent match starting on day one. The company also offers up to 20 weeks of maternal and parental paid leave and innovative benefits such as Leave Share and Ramp Back, which give new parents flexibility with their growing families.
We are doing everything we can to keep our employees as safe as possible as we prepare for the launch. In fact, across our operations, Amazon has invested more than $4 billion from June to April on COVID19 related safety measures. This includes spending more than $800 million dollars in the first half of this year on safety measures like temperature checks, masks, enhanced cleaning, gloves, and sanitation stations, to name a few.
