Broken Arrow’s biannual Trash Bash & Recycling Rally event is Saturday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The event helps reduce litter and trash dumping around Broken Arrow and is designed to be easy and free.

Trash Bash litter collection along rights-of-way and other public spaces are open to neighborhood associations, volunteer groups, and interested individuals. Participants can pick up gloves, safety vests, and bags from Broken Arrow Solid Waste and Recycling Department by contacting Galea Albano at 918-259-7000, extension 7364. The City of Broken Arrow will coordinate with groups to collect bagged litter.

Recycling Rally – a free drive-through and drop-off event for an array of hard-to-recycle items – will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Broken Arrow’s Special Events Park at 21101 E. 101^st St.

Items that will be accepted at Recycling Rally are:

• medications
• e-waste
• ammunition
• tires (limit 10)
• batteries (automotive and household)
• plastic bags
• cardboard
• medical sharps

Document shredding – sponsored by AVB Bank – will also be available. Electronics will be accepted free of charge except for a small fee for televisions and video monitors.
