Flood-impacted private well support event

What: This is a come-and-go information opportunity for private well owners in areas impacted by recent floods.

Who: The Muskogee County Conservation District is partnering with the Oklahoma Conservation Commission (OCC) and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) for this event. The OCC’s Blue Thumb program staff will provide educational information to support citizens in post-flood recovery of their private wells. The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) is offering free bacteria testing for private wells submerged in flood water.

When and where: Come-and-go information opportunity, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, June 18 at the Muskogee County Conservation District, 3001 Azalea Park Drive, Suite 1, Muskogee, OK 74401.

Also: Blue Thumb staff will be on site to hand out sample containers and instructions on well disinfection from ODEQ and coordinate receipt of samples at a later date.
