Exploring God’s Compassion

Author Lisa J. Radcliffe joined the GEB America podcast to discuss her new book, “God is For Me,” released on March 3rd, and her previous works, including “Hidden With Christ” and “A Time to Laugh, My Life Over 50.” The new book addresses sexual harm survivors’ perception that the Bible doesn’t address their experiences by examining nine biblical stories that demonstrate God’s care and compassion for victims.
Radcliffe shared her journey from overcoming her own sexual abuse to becoming a board-certified mental health coach and author, including how her first book unexpectedly helped a 70-year-old man find freedom from his own past trauma. The discussion highlighted how shame from childhood abuse remains a significant barrier for survivors seeking healing, and emphasized the importance of sharing one’s story with a safe person for progress to be made.
