Deep Breaths From the Bible for Busy Moms

No matter what your goals are in life, being a mom is one of the most equally challenging and rewarding jobs you’ll ever have. Nurturing a child through the various stages of life is soul-affirming work at times, but if you’re honest: being a mom is also exhausting. Whether you’re a stay at home parent or working full time, God has called you to this special season of life and doesn’t want you to feel that you don’t need nourishment as well. In fact, it is important to teach your children about self care by example as no one can pour from an empty cup.

Take some time to rest today and dwell upon these Bible verses:

For when you have to teach your child a difficult lesson: 

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. – Hebrews 12:11

For when things feel overwhelming: 

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:22-23
For when you’re feeling stressed out:
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. – Matthew 6:33-34
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippines 4:6-7
For when you’re feeling conflicted about your role as a parent:
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. – 1 Peter 5:2-3
